  • Beaches at Barmouth

    Barmouth has wide,clean sandy beaches and good swimming. There are boat/fishing trips available from the harbour. There are children seasonal activites on the beach and a fun- fare

  • Mountain biking- Coed y Brenin

    Coed y Brenin ( about 7 miles away) offers a variety of off road cycles trails for all the family.
    The Mawddach trail is approx. 9 mile cycle ride to the coast which is safe for children

  • Horse Riding

    There are several local horse riding stables which offer treks or beach rides.

  • Boating and Fishing

    There are fishing trips from Barmouth Harbour.
    There is seasonal fishing availlable on local rivers subject to the required licence

  • Steam railways

    Ffestiniogg and Fairbourne have steam railways.

  • Mountain Walks and Snowdon

    The area abounds with beautiful walks from the leisurely to the challenging. Try the Precipice walk or the New Precipice walk from our garden gate or the Panoramic Walk from Barmouth. Climb Cader Idris or Snowdon itself. Explore the remote Rhnioggs or Creggenan Lake or hike up to the Blue Lake.

    There are slate mines and caves to explore in the vicinity

  • Portmeirion

    Portmeirion is a 30 minute dirve away and is well worth a visit. It is an italianate village and was the location of the TV program 'The Prisoner', starring Patrick McGoohan.

    The castle has a spectacular situation and is only 30 minutes away. Great to take the children to so that they can explore.

  • Bala Lake

    Bala lake is about half an hours drive from the house, the lake is known as Llyn Tegid in Welsh. The lake is extremely popular with canoeists. Bala Lake itself is 4 miles long by 1 mile wide and is popular for all sorts of boating and water sport activities. Boats are available for hire but be sure to book well in advance at peak holiday periods. Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, fishing and also mountain biking occur on and around this beautiful lake.

  • King Arthurs Labyrinth

    Only 20 minutes away via car it is the perfect trip for exploring the caverns of Snowdonia, great fun for all the family. The reviews it has recieved say it all:
